In Baldur’s Gate 3, there is a moon puzzle. Properly placing the stone discs in the Selune temple is a difficult task that represents a serious test for many players.
In this guide, we will tell you how to turn moon discs in the defiled temple in Baldur’s Gate 3, as well as how to open the door that will lead you to the Underground.
Finally, we’ll tell you how to get the same result without solving the riddle at all.
Solving the problem with the moons
The defiled temple is hidden under the goblin camp, you should probably find it along a “night song” quest. After the battle in the temple, a big door will close. To open it, you need to correctly place the lunar runes on the rotating discs in the center of the hall. There’s another method that we’ll talk about later.
We need to place the full moons on the upper disk, the new moons at the bottom, and the half-moons on their sides.
On the untouched puzzle, you need to consistently rotate the circles as follows, considering that the circle is closer to the closed door:
- Upper one time;
- left three times;
- Lower one time;
- Left twice;
- Right two times;
- Bottom one time;
- Right round twice;
- Upper circle twice.
After that, you will be able to open the gates to the underground.There is another way to open the door without using the lunar discs. Above the bench on the right, there is an emblem indicating a closed passage.
When an active character approaches, it passes the attention test; if it successfully passes, it means that it is a lever to interact with. The corresponding character must unlock it with the help of theft tools and then press the button to open the door.
