A week before the release, the embargo on publishing reviews of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown from Ubisoft Montpellier lifted. Journalists are highly praising the 2D Metroidvania, noting that it is a restart of the series, which gives it impetus for further development.
The press notes the outstanding platforming, responsive controls, very smart and tricky puzzles that are not annoying, a large and detailed world with a bunch of hidden passages. The option of attaching screenshots to the map is also especially praised.
The disadvantages of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, many considered the clumsy combat system and weak storytelling – what is happening very quickly disappears from your mind.
